The British Irish Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (BIHIMA) represents in Britain and Ireland the world’s leading hearing instrument manufacturers. We work in partnership with other professional, trade, regulatory and consumer organisations within the health care and charitable sectors. Our goal is to raise consumer awareness of hearing solutions, making available the very latest in hearing technology.
We also work on behalf of our members to advance an agenda for change with government and policy makers, to improve the lives of people with hearing difficulties.
All our members have joint affiliation with our European counterpart, the European Hearing Instrument Manufacturing Association (EHIMA). BIHIMA is also a member of The Hearing Loss and Deafness Alliance, a coalition of charities and organisations working together to reduce the impact of hearing loss.
The BIHIMA board is made up of the chief executives of member organisations, headed up by our chairman, Paul Surridge. Our members include Starkey Hearing Technologies, Sivantos, Widex, Phonak, Oticon, GNReSound and Unitron.
If you are a hearing organisation or policy maker, a user of hearing technology, or you would like to take steps to improve your hearing, we represent the people that can help.
